About Sign PDF

This places a drawn image of your signature onto the page — the same thing you get by printing, signing and scanning, minus the printer. It is not a cryptographic digital signature, which binds an identity certificate to the document and is what regulated processes require. For the overwhelming majority of everyday forms, an image is what is actually being asked for.

How to use it

  1. Everything sign pdf needs is on this page.
  2. Your input is processed locally and discarded when you close the tab.

Under the hood

Runs onpdf-lib — builds and rewrites the PDF structure; Canvas 2D — does the pixel work

Questions

Which browsers does this work in?

It relies on pdf-lib and Canvas 2D, supported in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Features needing camera, microphone or screen access will ask permission first, and that prompt comes from your browser rather than from this page.

What does Sign PDF use to do the work?

pdf-lib builds and rewrites the PDF structure, and Canvas 2D does the pixel work — all of it running inside this page rather than on a server.
