About PDF Metadata Editor

PDF metadata follows a document everywhere it goes — the author field often still holds the name of whoever first created the template. Leave a field blank here to clear it.

How to use it

  1. Choose a file, or drag it onto the drop zone.
  2. Set title, author and subject and the remaining options.
  3. Press "Update metadata", then download what comes back.

Questions

Is there a file size limit?

No imposed limit — there is no server quota to hit. The real ceiling is your device's memory, since the whole file is held in RAM while it is processed. Desktop browsers cope with very large files; phones give up sooner.

What does PDF Metadata Editor use to do the work?

pdf-lib builds and rewrites the PDF structure — all of it running inside this page rather than on a server.
